QUALIFICATIONS
What are the qualifications to adopt EITHER PRIVATELY OR through the foster care system?
Should you decide to adopt privately, or through the foster Care system, the qualifiers are similar. You will be required to submit information that indicates you are stable, loving, patient and healthy enough to meet the needs of a child. Adequate space is a must and a flexible, positive nature helps.
Guardians of Love does not charge adoptive families for certification, home-study and matching services. The agency also provides prospective adoptive families with referrals to low or no cost adoption finalization, and post adoption services.

WHAT SERVICES AND BENEFITS ARE OFFERED TO CHILDREN AND ADOPTIVE FAMILIES?
Adoptive families can receive a Tax Credit in excess of $12,000.00 per child upon finalization. After finalization, families will continue to receive a tax- free monthly stipend, free counseling, and medical & dental insurance. There are also college grants specifically designed for former foster youth.
HOW CHILDREN ARE SELECTED
CAN I CHOOSE THE AGE, GENDER AND ETHNICITY OF THE CHILD I WANT?
Yes, families are encouraged to share their hopes and ideas with their matcher. The family and matcher will discuss the family’s suitability and capability for specific children. A bio of the child will be presented for family’s consideration, and in some cases several meetings with the child will proceed placement.
